Seminar by Prof. Giuseppina Terzo (Wednesday 3 May 2023)

Prof. Giuseppina Terzo, from Università degli Studi di Napoli “Federico II”., will give a seminar on Wednesday 3 May 2023 at 14:30 in Sala Riunioni, DipMat. Title: Exponential ideals in an exponential polynomial ring. Abstract: When we work with exponential polynomial rings over an exponential field some classical results fail, as Hilbert’s Basis Theorem and Nullstellensatz. We will present some results on exponential ideals in exponential rings, in order to see if some weak version of Read more

Seminar by Prof. Paola D’Aquino (Monday 17 April)

Prof. Paola D’Aquino, from Università degli Studi della Campania “Luigi Vanviltelli”, will give a seminar on Monday 17 April 2023 at 14:45 in Sala Riunioni, DipMat. Title: A Feferman Vaught theorem for products of commutative unital rings. Abstract: We axiomatize the class of commutative unital rings which are elementarily equivalent to a non trivial product of commutative unital connected rings, obtaining in this way a converse of the classical result of Feferman and Vaught for Read more

Dr. Adam Prenosil visiting DipMat

Dr. Adam Prenosil, from the Institute of Computer Science, Czech Academy of Sciences, will be visiting us (4-13 February 2023) and will give the seminar “Priestley duality for positive MV-algebras” on Wednesday the 8th of February at 11:00 in Sala Riunioni (DipMat). Abstract: I will present ongoing joint work with Marco Abbadini, which aims to provide a Priestley-type duality for (a subclass of) positive MV-algebras, i.e. negation-free subreducts of MV-algebras. This work draws on two Read more

World Logic Day 2023

LATD+MOSAIC

At the beginning of September we hosted the VII installment of the conference LATD – Logic, Algebras and Truth Degrees, co-located with the kick-off conference of the MSCA-RISE project MOSAIC. The conference was held in Paestum (SA) from the 5th to the 10th of September 2022, It included 55 contributed talks and 11 invited speakers. It counted over 70 participants, almost 25% of them being women. For more detail, you can visit https://logica.dipmat.unisa.it/LATD+MOSAIC/#

Prof. Daniele Mundici visiting DipMat

Prof. Daniele Mundici will be visiting our Department from October 15th to October 18th 2019. On October 16th, at 15:00, he will be giving a seminar in “Sala Riunioni” titled ” MV-algebre e AF algebre“. Read more

Dr. Marco Abbadini visiting DipMat

Dr. Marco Abbadini (PhD candidate at the University of Milano) will be rising our Department from the 12 to the 14 of December. On the 13 of December at 11:30 in Salsa Riunioni, he will give a seminar on “Archimedean Cauchy-complete MV-algebras”  Abstract: It is known that every Archimedean MV-algebra A is a metric space, where the distance coincides with the supremum distance, when A is represented in [0,1]^X. We show that the class of archimedean Cauchy-complete Read more
